A Word from the Editor: Meet us in Denver!
Adriana Iordan
Adriana Iordan, Web Marketing Manager,
Avangate B.V

There's been a lot of fuss and stress going on lately with the big 2007 events in US, the Software Industry Conference and the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. They both take place in Denver and represent big opportunities for every software business to share some knowledge and meet new business contacts. I and some of my colleagues are going there and it will be really great if you stop by our booth for some software marketing and ecommerce chat or just say "Hi!'' to us (we're wearing nice red shirts with Avangate logo).

We are in Denver at Microsoft WPC between the 10th and the 12th of July and, in case you miss us, we move to the Software Industry Conference (SIC), also in Denver, till the 14th of July. We’d be really glad to meet you in person, hear your thoughts, and share same ideas with you.

Keep in mind: at Microsoft WPC we are in booth 858, and at SIC, well, just look for the nice red shirts with Avangate :) to spot our booth and people.

As I already told you, on July 14th between 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, I am also giving a presentation at SIC on how to master web metrics and control the machine that’s bringing us money. I’m sure is a thorny subject and we‘ll be able to interact a lot on this.

We've also prepared some specials for each of the events, promotions, bonuses, sales tips(!) and you can read all about these on the dedicated pages for Microsoft WPC and SIC.

Till then, you can enjoy this month Web Vip interview: introducing Andy Brice, founder of Oryx Digital Ltd., proud publisher of successful Perfect Table Plan software and active supporter of the ISV community.

We welcome feedback. If you would like to share your thoughts, please don't hesitate to email me directly at .

I hope you will enjoy this newsletter!
Until next time,
Adriana Iordan

In the forth issue of Avangate Digest, we had the pleasure to talk to Andy Brice, a UK-based software developer with over twenty years of professional experience and the owner of Oryx Digital, a software company which sells shrink-wrap software and provides consulting to other software companies.

From the interview with Andy Brice:

"The things that have consistently yielded a good return on investment for me are SEO (search engine optimization), Google Adwords and word of mouth recommendations from my customers. I haven't done anything clever or devious for SEO. I just paid attention to page names, titles, alt tags etc. It’s taken me a lot of time to learn how to work Google Adwords to my advantage and it is a continually moving target.
But it can be very cost effective and give you some great feedback for SEO. I have had less success with Yahoo and Microsoft Pay per Click. Word of mouth recommendations come from providing a good product and going the extra mile to support it. All of these things take time."
