The Software Industry no Longer Belongs to Corporations

Press release

July 18, 2007
Avangate sees ISV’s potential to revolutionize the global software industry

Considerations after Microsoft WPC and SIC 2007

Avangate BV, full service e-commerce provider for online software sales took part last week in two of the most prestigious events in the software world: the Software Industry Conference (SIC) and Microsoft Worldwide Partners Conference in Denver, Colorado. Main feeling after the events: the future of the software industry stays within independent software vendors now mapping out the logic of tomorrow's software industry: medium entities, flexible, able to absorb at a fast rate new opportunities to develop, promote, and sell.

Avangate wanted to make its participation in both events to matter and in fact it did. There were no publicity service for its sake; instead, the focus was on sharing experience and providing know-how.

"We do know software business as we are in this industry for 15 years and at SIC and Microsoft WPC we wanted to share software professionals some of our knowledge. Pragmatically it all makes sense as we only make money if our clients make money too. There is also another view and we are glad to have it: software industry is changing and more than ever it belongs to Independent Software Vendors" comments Dragos Stanescu, Sales and Marketing Manager, Avangate B.V. "It is a community worth supporting and investing in as this means giving a change to tomorrow industry itself", adds Dragos Stanescu.

Avangate also had prepared some specials for each of the events, promotions, bonuses, sales tips and a key speech at SIC: methods of measuring the online marketing success and controlling the machine that's bringing all of us money. Adriana Iordan, Web Marketing Manager at Avangate B.V. led the discussion on this issue together with Mr. Dave Collins who took an angle on "Log analysis: Reaching the Gold in the Rubble".

"The presentation was really successful! Moreover, the debate regarding the security of the data and the impact of using Google Analytics, a hot question in the online marketing industry, has been a delight for the software developers who participated. They were really interested in this subject and in the role of specific web analytics they can use to increase their online sales, improve customer experience and decrease advertising costs", said Adriana Iordan, Web Marketing Manager, Avangate B.V.
