History of InnovationAvangate was founded in 2006 as part of the GECAD family of companies. GECAD created RAV (Reliable Antivirus), an internationally recognized antivirus product with over 10 million users. Microsoft, in 2003, acquired the RAV technology.
Since its founding in May 2006, Avangate has become a solid presence on the international market, enabling software companies to sell software in a way that is efficient, secure, customer friendly and locally relevant, whether it is directly online, via the Avangate Affiliate Network or via classic distribution channels, on emerging or established markets.

- Avangate® eCommerce solution is launched, designed to support software vendors increase revenue via the online channel
2006
- The Avangate Company has been founded in May 2006, having the Headquarters in The Netherlands
- myAvangate Partner Relationship Management solution is launched as beta version
- Avangate Affiliates Program is launched, focused on the software vertical
- Customer Support Center goes 24x7
2007
- Free tools for Software Promotion (Avangate Pad Validator, Avangate Pad Promoter)
- Japanese and Chinese languages are added to the Avangate checkout page, to support software vendors selling on the Asian market
- Avangate opens North America Sales office in San Francisco, CA
- myAvangate - Partner Relationship Management solution is commercially launched
- 50+ professional team carrying on the Avangate promise
2008
- myAvangate Partner Relationship Management solution becomes ARMS – launched at CEBIT 2008

- First Avangate co-branded MasterCard® powered by Payoneer - for payments to vendors and affiliates

- ARMS 3.0 launched - optimized through improved usability and enhanced dashboard
- Avangate services are PCI DSS Level 1 certified (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). PCI DSS is the most important security standard for the card payment industry
- First Avangate Software Selling Conference in China
2010
- Avangate Network Cross-Selling opens up new channels for software distribution
- Ordering interface in 20+ languages, accepting more than 20 payment methods and tens of billing currencies
- Avangate Affiliates Network reached more than 20,000 affiliates

2011
- 3TS Cisco Growth Fund Investment in Avangate
- Enhanced subscription capabilities for installable and SaaS products are developed within the eCommerce platform
- The Avangate Affiliate Network's 5-year anniversary
- Avangate voted finalist in the 2011 CODiE Awards, Best Electronic Commerce Solution
- Carl Theobald appointed as Avangate CEO and President. Also member of the Board.
- William Lansing and Thomas Kendra Appointed To Advisory Board
- Michael Ni, Jim Emerich, Joe Brown join the Avangate Executive Team
- North American Headquarters established in Redwood Shores, CA
