Link Popularity Link popularity counts the total number of web pages which link to a website and it is considered to be a major factor used by search engines in determining a site's position in search results. A site with more inbound links will be positioned higher than a similar site with fewer links. It is helpful to keep track of your backlinks, to know which sites are linking back to you, and how the anchor text (a keyword incorporated into the text of the hyperlink) of the backlink incorporates keywords relating to your site.
